This recipe is still so easy, addicting and maybe even slightly more delicious. Instead of peanut butter, it’s infused with creamy, dreamy, heavenly Chocmeister Milk Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread! Nutella will totally work too, if that’s all you have on-hand.
You guys!! I cannot get enough of the deliciousness of Chocmeister. It’s the most luscious hazelnut spread I’ve ever tasted and it even has 25% less sugar than the leading brand with double the protein. And it takes the rice crispy treat to the next level. Wowsers!!

Healthy Chocolate Rice Crispy Treats
Ingredients
- 3 cups crispy rice cereal, I used gf brown rice crispies
- 2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Chocmeister Milk Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread*
- 1/2 cup brown rice syrup**
Instructions
- Line an 8x8-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, add rice crispy cereal and set aside.
- Over medium heat, melt milk chocolate hazelnut spread with brown rice syrup, vanilla and salt until very smooth and drippy. Remove from heat and pour the mixture into the rice crispy cereal and mix well.
- Pour rice crispy mixture into the lined pan and, using slightly damp hands, press firmly into place.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Treats should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and will stay fresh for about 2 weeks.
Notes
**Honey or maple syrup can be used, however these are less sticky and I've found brown rice syrup works best.

Would golden syrup work?
I’m not familiar with golden syrup, but if it’s pretty sticky like brown rice syrup, it should work.
Can you say yummy?! Can’t wait to make these for my kids.
These look amazing and it’s so great they are healthy!
You just took one of my favorite childhood treats, made it healthy, AND included hazelnut spread. You are my hero!
These look so chocolaty and yummy! My kids would love this recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Hi! I cannot wait to try this recipe! I am having trouble finding brown rice syrup though, can I use light corn syrup instead?
I’m sure that would work. Brown rice syrup should be near the nut and seed butters. Or a couple of healthier substitutes would be honey or maple syrup. Good luck!
My kids are on a kick where they think they NEED dessert every single night, so I love idea of being able to give them something healthy! Thanks so much for sharing this!
