Smoked Salmon Bites
Smoked Salmon Bites with capers, dill and cream cheese are effortlessly elegant. The perfect party appetizer— thin-sliced smoked salmon is infinitely versatile and pairs perfectly with my favorite vibrant and smooth Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine.
Tis the season for parties and tons of fun with good friends, special family, festive foods and lovely sparkling wine. This time of year is the best! Yes, it can get hectic, but it’s also so spectacular! When I’m hosting a party or get-together, to stay sane, I try to keep most of the food really easy.
These smoked salmon bites are super tasty and look really fancy, but could not be easier. Believe it or not, this is also a fairly low-calorie appetizer. I used a fat free cream cheese to keep things figure friendly and instead of crackers or cocktail toast, you could even use sliced cucumbers to healthify this recipe even further.
The smoky, salty, fresh flavor of the salmon bites pairs perfectly with a sparkling wine, like the Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs. The exuberant and fruit-forward wines of Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards are a perfect match for any occasion. The Blanc de Blancs is my personal favorite- the creamy, clean and refreshing flavor combines well with smoked fish, shellfish, caviar and creamy cheeses.
Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from hand-harvested Chardonnay. Gloria Ferrer is one of the few wineries that still use a more hands-on harvests starting at 2 in the morning to bring in the fruit when it’s cool, which means the grapes are at the optimal temperature when they are brought into the winery. Smoked Salmon Bites
Ingredients
- 1-2 packages large crackers or cocktail toasts (gluten-free as needed)
- 8 oz light or fat free cream cheese
- 8-12 oz. package smoked salmon
- 1 small jar capers
- fresh dill
Instructions
- Simply spread cream cheese over crackers and line on a pretty tray.
- Top with pieces of salmon, capers and fresh dill. Enjoy!
