It’s that time again! My April 2017 Stitch Fix Review is coming up!
My skin color may not clue you in, but spring is officially here. I’m so ready for sunny summer days! For this Fix, I asked my personal stylist, Alexandra, to send me some skinny white jeans and other casual spring finds. She did a fabulous job – come take a look! And be sure to scroll to the end of the post to enter to win a $300 Stitch Fix gift card.
EMAIL ME THE RECIPE!
Before we jump into my February Stitch Fix goodies, let me give you a rundown of how Stitch Fix works, for all of the virgins out there (it’s okay, your secret’s safe with me).
1. You start by filling out your style profile – you will complete all sorts of questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. You can also write notes about likes/dislikes. Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest, so your stylist can see what you like!
2. Order your first fix! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee, however, if you keep any item [one or more] you will be credited back the $20. Because of this I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive 5 items [made up of clothing, jewelry, and handbags, whatever you prefer]. You can also let your stylist know if you only want clothing in your fix. I did this for awhile, but recently I updated my options to receive handbags.
3. Decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back [in a postage paid envelope]! You have 3 business days to do so – use this time to try everything on, see what you have in your closet that pairs well with it and don’t be afraid to say yes to something that you wouldn’t normally. That’s what makes Stitch Fix so fun! If you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix – yes, please!
It should be noted that while I have chosen to receive monthly fixes, this is in no way a subscription service and you are able to decide when you want another fix, whether that be in 6 months or 2 years from your first fix! As always, if you ever have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
Okay now seriously, here we go! Remember – If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar! That’s what I do to get the best fix possible!
All of the jewelry I’m wearing in this post includes the latest goods from my RocksBox shipment. I’m in love with the pieces I’ve been getting from them lately. I always request Kendra (of course).
If you’re not familiar with Rocksbox, it’s similar to Stitch Fix where you receive a shipment of items. Here are a few more details for those of you interested:
- Rocksbox is a premium jewelry subscription that carries popular brands, like Gorjana and Kendra Scott.
- You have the opportunity to complete a style profile and also add available items to a personal wish list. You will then be sent 3 jewelry pieces by your stylist.
- You get to try one month completely free with no commitment to continue. It’s a win-win! Sign up here and use the code KIMLBFF3.
- If you choose to continue after the FREE month, there will be a $19 monthly fee. You will get to keep and enjoy your jewelry pieces as long as you’d like on loan. You can get as many shipments as you’d like to try.
- Like with Stitch Fix, you can make special requests. Perfect if you have an event coming up or if you’ve been eyeing a particular Kendra Scott necklace.
- Of course, you can purchase any of the pieces you receive with a great discount off of the retail price.
- You will be provided a prepaid shipping label, and envelope so sending back your box is super simple.
- Don’t worry- each piece is sanitized and cleaned thoroughly before it is sent out. I’ve never been able to tell that a piece was not new.
- As an added bonus, there is a Shine Insider Reward Program that gives you $21 Shine Spend every month. You can use it that month to purchase your favorite piece. You can also earn Forever Spend by referring friends, which can be used immediately, or can be saved to use for a future purchases. Loving this service!

I just got my 4th fix in the mail and have been LOVING the service! I really like the dress you were sent and the price is really good… Maybe I should ask my stylist for something similar.
I have not yet had the opportunity to try this yet. Hopefully, soon I will be able to. It looks wonderful.
I’m not sure the dress would droop if you weren’t arching your shoulders back as much? I think it’s a gorgeous dress and looks great on you….but I’d wear it with the heals you have rather than flip flops….
I’ve been interested in trying Stitch Fix for quite a while now. I just worry that the clothes are a tad pricy for my tastes, or that they’ll completely miss the mark on my personal style!
I haven’t tried it, just because I can’t afford it at the moment, but I would really love to!
I really love these posts! I haven’t tried Stitch Fix yet because I can’t justify the price for my stay-at-home Mama life…but when I go back to work I can’t wait to try it out!
I love everything. The dress I probably would send back because of the draping.
I haven’t tried yet due to cost but I would love to!
I’m still on the fence about SF. My first one was good, but I haven’t loved the next too. Might give them one more shot before I decide for good!
I’ve been a SF customer for about 6 months, and am always surprised how much I like what they send.
That scallop top with white jeans is super cute on you!
Like my sister tells me, if you don’t love it as soon as you put it on…RETURN IT!
Hi,
I’ve been a “Stitch-fixer” for about 9 months now.
As far as your most recent Fix-
You have a cute figure- I don’t think the dress highlights that 🙁
And although the top is cute, I don’t think it highlights your figure either. The other items I think are a definite keep though!!!!!
I just received my first Fix today. Love it!
I have been doing stitch fix for 2 months. I am anxiously awaiting the second fix. I was very disappointed in the first one for several reasons. Likely the most frustration for me is that I am and always have been a clearance shopper. I look forward to the next fix to see if they really listened to the comments I left on the other box.
If I were you I would not keep the dress as I do feel like it hangs a little funny and while the $98 top is really cute with those pants I probably wouldn’t keep it due to cost.
return the dress. If you don’t love it, it’s not worth it.
Loved the dress! I definitely say keep it!
I pinned the blue blouse. I’d love to have that in my closet.
I pinned the blue blouse. I’d love to add that to my closet.
I’ve been a customer for several years, but I haven’t had a Fix in a while, just due to funding.
I’ve been a Stitch Fix customer for a little over a year, although I haven’t gotten a “fix” in quite awhile (budget constraints).
I’ve been with stitch fix since August of last year. It’s so much fun and I look forward to every box. Some are winners and some are not, but I usually find at least 1 thing that I love. I really like the Laju top on you. Looks super cozy!
I have never used Stitch Fix but I am interested in trying it out. I want to organize my closet and take stock of what I have before I buy anything new.
I love stitch fix!
I made a profile but have not ordered a box yet! I need to purge some clothing to make room!
If you can’t decide, return it. I’ve never liked more than initially. The dress could be altered to take in the excess, but it’s an added cost too. I love stitch fix!
I haven’t tried them yet. Do they carry plus sizes? Thanks.
I have never tried Stitch fix, I have been working on my weight, so I am waiting until that stabilizes a bit.
I have never heard of Stitch Fix until today! I am very interested! Thanks for sharing!
I agree – send back the dress and the top! I’ve been doing stitch fix for less than a year now, and mostly I like it, but every once in a while there’s just something weird in there. The top is that. The dress is cute, but doesn’t fit quite right, and I think you’ll be bummed if you keep it. It doesn’t make sense to only send one thing back, so I say send them both back. Also – I’ve been looking for a pair of flattering skinny white jeans for some time, with no luck – I am very athletic and have muscular quads, and it’s nearly impossible! I feel you!!!
I have yet to try it. I was unsure of how complicated it would be to navigate
Loved the review! I’ve only tried Stitch Fix once and liked some of the stuff but didn’t love. I am thinking of trying again…
The navy dress is adorable but I see what you mean about the back sagging. Is it a petite? Would a smaller size help? I know I wouldn’t pay $98 for the white top even though it looks cute and would depend how much you would wear it. The blue plaid shirt looks winter to me and not spring. Overall, very cute items!!
Oh you should totally request a special occasion fix! The dress that I wore to my sister’s wedding was a Stitch Fix piece that I still love to this day.
I’ve tried stitchfix 3 times and have had mixed results. I have a few weddings coming up though and would love to have some new dresses for all of the rehearsals, brunches, etc.!
Ive tried it once! Excited to try again!!!!
It’s so much fun!
I haven’t ordered anything yet, but I plan tosoon.
Good luck!
I’ve been a customer for over 2 years. I always look forward to getting one though there have definitely been hits and misses.
I think the dress looks amazing. I think the draping in the back is actually very flattering and adds even more boho-chic vibes. It would look great with wedges and your denim jacket. Love me some Stitch Fix! Boosts my confidence and depletes my bank account ????
Oh my goodness… well, you have really given me a different perspective and have me thinking about keeping the dress. Yikes – you are so right about Stitch Fix! Ha!
Love these posts as you know haha. I’m really liking that first blue dress but those heels! Love. I’m glad to hear that they are actually comfortable!
Thanks so much and yes, the heels were a total steal!
I am a Stitch Fix customer. I just received my first box this week and I kept 3 of the items.
That’s pretty good odds!!
I think those white jeans look great on you! What you said is so true – you can’t judge an item in your box until you try it on – with a fav from a previous month or a staple in your closet.
Yes! Thanks so much – makes me feel better about keeping them! 🙂
I have not tried Stich Fix, but have been tempted. I have never been able to buy clothes without trying them on for a good fit. That and the expense keeps me from trying.
The fit can be tough, but surprisingly Stitch Fix gets it right more often than not.
I’ve been a Stitch Fix customer off and on for a little over a year. I’ve had some great fixes and some not great fixes but overall I’m fairly happy with it ????
I feel about the same, but I have to say more often than not, my fixes are great. 🙂
I think the dress is made for people like myself with a bigger backside. Lots of dresses I have to return because they are tight. I love the dress, but if you should keep it kind of depends on your closet, if you don’t have a good navy dress, i would! I love the white top, i think you can make the different colors in it pop depending on what you style with it.
Thanks so much, Katie! You’ve definitely given me something to think about. 🙂
I just decided to try Stitch Fix and have my first one coming on the 11th of this month! I like to get new clothes once in a while, but loathe the shopping process. I’m terrible at it. Excited to see if I like it!
Your clothes are really nice this month!!
I’m the same! Good luck on your fix!
I LOVE the scallop trim blouse and the white jeans! I think the other picks look great on you and are nice too, but maybe not worth keeping. Thanks for sharing your SF picks!
Thanks so much, for your opinion, Caitlin! Super helpful!
I haven’t tired it yet. Waiting to lose weight to buy new close.
Hope you get to give it a try soon!
What a cute fix. I agree with you that the dress, although really attractive, fits poorly in the back. The hem actually sags. It looks like you and I share a fit issue: a lot of straight cuts like this dress fit me very baggy in the back. I have a small back, and I think that is the problem: we don’t have enough width or bulk in the back and shoulders to take up the fabric properly. The color looks great and it’s an adorable dress, but I think you should send it back.
Thanks so much for your honest opinion – that seriously helps. I think I will send it back. Bummer 🙁
