Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms
These Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms are the perfect app for your next party! Who doesn’t love this cheesy and bacon filled deliciousness in the bite-sized perfection of mushroom caps?!
These little guys are packed with so much flavor, they’re sure to be a crowd pleaser. The big flavor comes mostly from the bacon. Bacon just seems to make everything better doesn’t it? And we’re not just talking any bacon. I’m using Smithfield Hometown Original Bacon– smoked and cured to perfection, Smithfield is available in a wide variety of flavors and cuts and is my go-to for adding incredible taste to so many dishes.
I’ve talked before about how much I love Smithfield Bacon, and how versatile it is. I even used it to create pancake breakfast sandwiches, which are a great solution when you’re serving a crowd for brunch.
Through the holidays and beyond, you better believe, I’ll be turning to Smithfield for that extra special something in all of my meals. From breakfast to appetizers to the main meal, Smithfield slow-smoked bacon, breakfast sausage and classic holiday hams, are sure to make this the tastiest holiday season yet!
I’m always looking for simple, tasty appetizers that will wow my guests and these bacon stuffed mushrooms sure do the trick! Invite your friends over for drinks and appetizers and prepare to watch these mushrooms disappear.
Feel free to prepare these ahead of time. Simply stuff the mushrooms, place them on the baking pan, cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate. Cook them up right before serving, as they are best nice and warm. So, dang, delicious. Enjoy!
Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- ¾ cup bread crumbs*
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese or other favorite cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley + more for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 24 2-inch crimini or white mushrooms remove stems and hollow out a cavity
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place bacon on a rack over a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until crisp. It will get crispier as it cools. Once cooked, dice and transfer to mixing bowl with other ingredients.
- While bacon is cooking, sauté onion for about 5 mins, add garlic and sauté for an additional 2 minutes. Stir in spinach; cook just until wilted. Transfer into mixing bowl with bacon; allow to cool slightly.
- Stir in bread crumbs, cheese and basil or parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place mushrooms on baking sheet. Spoon into each one bacon/bread crumb mixture. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm from the oven. Enjoy!

I have had the stuffed mushrooms at all kinds of different places. But I have never tried to make it at home. I think I am going to have to try this.
I add bacon in as many recipes I can. It’s a flavor I really love. So I know, I’d absolutely love these bacon stuffed mushrooms.
My SIL would love these. She’s huge on mushrooms for the appetizers at her house and adding bacon would make her even more happy. 🙂
