Vanilla Almond Butter Protein Granola
This Vanilla Almond Butter Protein Granola is a great whole grain breakfast or snack, especially when paired with FAGE yogurt! It’s crunchy, chewy, nutty, sweet and SO delicious!
This recipe is sponsored by FAGE; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.♡
Pop quiz: what is…
- high in protein,
- lower in sugar,
- creamy on a whole other level,
- desserty, yet snack-able in all the right ways,
- and nutritious enough to eat for breakfast?
Answer: Vanilla Almond Butter Protein Granola Yogurt Bowls!
Yeah, I just kind of made that concept up, but if you think about it, it totally works – we have delicious cookie-esque (but nutritious) granola, and we have the most wonderful creaminess thanks to the beauty of all-natural FAGE Total 0% Greek yogurt.
Hello, tasty treat! Hello, breakfast all week! Hello, FAGE for life!
In real life, it is very easy for me to talk about my love for FAGE because I have been a hard-core fan forever. It’s my go-to. Truly, FAGE Total 0% Greek yogurt is top notch.
This is the good stuff, so let’s start there.
This yogurt is creamy and rich like none other! It’s a perfect snack because it kind of tastes like ice cream except without the icky-feeling sugar bomb. It’s naturally high in protein, made with only milk and live active yogurt cultures, and there’s no added sugar, which I really, really love because I am eating a lot of it. It’s a good source of calcium, non-GMO Project Verified and made with milk from cows that have been fed Non-GMO feed. If you like to go creamy-dream-team on your snacks (AND I DO), the FAGE Total 0% Greek yogurt is where you need to be.
Without a doubt, FAGE makes a great standalone snack – cold, creamy, nutritionally feel-good.
But sometimes, the Creamy likes to invite the Crunch to the party. Know what I mean?
So here’s the deal – the only real work in this “recipe” aka winning snack concept is making the granola. And even that part is less about work and more about just giving yourself a gift in the form of a big huge jar of fresh, toasty granola with all those crunchy caramelized bits that will make your house smell amazing.
To start:
See all that goodness? It is sweetened with a little bit of honey (or you can use maple syrup), and the magic bonus ingredients are a thick pinch of salt, a heavy-handed pour of vanilla extract, and a good drizzling of almond butter – all of which I like to add for the caramelized / salty-sweet / cookie flavor effect.
Okay, so now we mix. And eat a little. Raw granola, don’t care.
And bake.
You’re basically done.
Oh wait… once the granola cools, don’t forget to stir in the chocolate chips and feel free to add in nuts or dried fruit too!
At this point, you grab your FAGE Total 0% Greek yogurt. You put some of that yummy, caramelized cookie-tasting granola into a bowl and swirl your creamy yogurt on top and crown the whole thing with any other ingredients you may desire. I like to go with a generous heap of juicy fresh berries. You could totally leave as is, though, or try adding nuts, chocolate chips or dried fruit.
Boom. Vanilla Almond Butter Protein Granola Yogurt Bowl.
You are set. Delicious snackage at its finest. Goodbye I need to go eat this right now.

Vanilla Almond Butter Protein Granola
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cup rolled oats
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder, (optional)
- 2 tablespoons ground flax
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate chunks
- FAGE yogurt and fruit for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325ºF and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add almond butter and honey, stirring until the almond butter is melted and fully combined with the honey. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Remove from heat and add oats, protein powder (if using), flax, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well and use a spatula to ensure that all of the oats are well coated.
- Spread the granola mixture over a baking sheet, leaving as many clusters as you want, and bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, and bake for another 8 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Let cool completely before adding chocolate and transferring to a storage container. The granola will still be slightly soft when it comes out of the oven, but it will harden up as it sits at room temperature and cools.
