March 2017 Stitch Fix Review – the hits, the misses and what you need to pin immediately (plus a giveaway)!
Hi, fellow fashionistas! It’s Stitch Fix sharing time! My March Fix was a tough one. I’ve never felt so indecisive over any previous shipment.
Follow along and check out all of the hits and misses. And don’t miss the AWESOME giveaway at the end of the post. Once again, I’m teaming up with a few of my favorite ladies (the Stitch Fix Collective) to give one of you a $350 Stitch Fix gift card. Yay! Giveaway has now closed.
EMAIL ME THE RECIPE!
Enter your email below and we'll send this recipe to your inbox. Plus, enjoy exclusive content!
Before we jump into my February Stitch Fix goodies, let me give you a rundown of how Stitch Fix works, for all of the virgins out there (it’s okay, your secret’s safe with me).
1. You start by filling out your style profile – you will complete all sorts of questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. You can also write notes about likes/dislikes. Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest, so your stylist can see what you like!
2. Order your first fix! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee, however, if you keep any item [one or more] you will be credited back the $20. Because of this I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive 5 items [made up of clothing, jewelry, and handbags, whatever you prefer]. You can also let your stylist know if you only want clothing in your fix. I did this for awhile, but recently I updated my options to receive handbags.
3. Decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back [in a postage paid envelope]! You have 3 business days to do so – use this time to try everything on, see what you have in your closet that pairs well with it and don’t be afraid to say yes to something that you wouldn’t normally. That’s what makes Stitch Fix so fun! If you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix – yes, please!
It should be noted that while I have chosen to receive monthly fixes, this is in no way a subscription service and you are able to decide when you want another fix, whether that be in 6 months or 2 years from your first fix! As always, if you ever have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
Okay now seriously, here we go! Remember – If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar! That’s what I do to get the best fix possible!
Wiley Adele Skinny Jean by Liverpool | 2P | 88.00 | Kept
The one request I had for this fix was to receive more colored Adele skinnies. Last month, I received them in a fabulous pink color. My stylist, Alexandra sent them in burgundy (very similar and on sale) and I love that she’s listening to my requests, but I actually already own a pair of GAP skinny jeans in this color. This is where the indecisiveness started.
My pair from GAP are too long to wear with booties, plus they need to be pulled up constantly, driving me crazy. These Adele skinnies fit perfectly and I loved the way they looked with the booties. I couldn’t help it – I just had to keep them.
I paired them with one of my favorite comfy tops, the Beach Cocoon pullover from Free People. This was one of the items from my latest Trunk Club shipment. Read more about Trunk Club in this post.
I also added the latest goods from my RocksBox shipment. I’m in love with the pieces I’ve been getting from them lately. I always request Kendra (of course).
If you’re not familiar with Rocksbox, it’s similar to Stitch Fix where you receive a shipment of items. Here are a few more details for those of you interested:
Rocksbox is a premium jewelry subscription that carries popular brands, like Gorjana and Kendra Scott.
You have the opportunity to complete a style profile and also add available items to a personal wish list. You will then be sent 3 jewelry pieces by your stylist.
You get to try one month completely free with no commitment to continue. It’s a win-win! Sign up here and use the code KIMLBFF3.
If you choose to continue after the FREE month, there will be a $19 monthly fee. You will get to keep and enjoy your jewelry pieces as long as you’d like on loan. You can get as many shipments as you’d like to try.
Like with Stitch Fix, you can make special requests. Perfect if you have an event coming up or if you’ve been eyeing a particular Kendra Scott necklace.
Of course, you can purchase any of the pieces you receive with a great discount off of the retail price.
You will be provided a prepaid shipping label, and envelope so sending back your box is super simple.
Don’t worry- each piece is sanitized and cleaned thoroughly before it is sent out. I’ve never been able to tell that a piece was not new.
As an added bonus, there is a Shine Insider Reward Program that gives you $21 Shine Spend every month. You can use it that month to purchase your favorite piece. You can also earn Forever Spend by referring friends, which can be used immediately, or can be saved to use for a future purchases. Loving this service!
Brandi Leaf Station Necklace by Bay to Baubles | 34.00 | Kept
I absolutely LOVE this necklace! I’ve already worn it with several different outfits. It pretty much goes with everything and was perfect for me because I really needed a long gold necklace. See similar.
Syllvia Swiss Dot Side Slit Knit Top by Daniel Rainn | XS | 54.00 | Return
I so could have loved this top, but it just wasn’t meant to be. The Swiss dot is adorable, it was super comfortable and I always love black. However, I just couldn’t get past the fit of this blouse. The side slits make this almost feel like a maternity top (not that maternity tops have side slits).
If the slits were shorter or would have stayed closed, I might have actually kept this, but unfortunately they kept coming open. See below… ugh. This just simply is not my style.
Siena Cropped Pant by Kut From The Kloth | 2 | 58.00 | Return
I requested these Kut From The Kloth pants in the hot pink color, I’ve came across reading other Stitch Fix reviews. Alexandra let me know that the pink were not available, but she sent the beautiful blue. I loved the color and I really thought these would be a keeper. Even after trying them on and realizing the fit wasn’t so great, I was still trying to talk myself into keeping them. Honestly, there was just too much material. If these had been in a petite size they may have worked. And after my daughter took one look at them and said they were too big, I knew they needed to be sent back. The pictures are a little deceiving with the way these fit.
Mieko Dress by CeCe by Cynthia Steffe | 2 | 128.00 | Return
No… just no. As soon as I pulled this out of the box, I knew this was not for me. The floral is too bold and I would prefer it to fit shorter. This was another item that I think may have worked better in a petite size. There seemed to just be too much fabric.
My son and daughter both liked it and said it would be perfect for our beach vacation, this summer, but I wasn’t sold. And seeing the picture below and how unflattering the dress looks on me, I know I made the right decision by shipping this back.
My son (aka – the photographer) wanted to snap a photo of me flexing. He sees how hard I’ve been working for these biceps!! Ha!
While we were out snapping Stitch Fix pictures I caught this adorable shot of my grandson and had to include it for obvious reasons. I’m in love with those baby blues! Now keep scrolling for the giveaway!
Above is the price breakdown if I would have kept all 5 items. I chose to keep the skinny jeans for 88.00 and the necklace for 34.00. The total was 122.00.

Thank you so much for the detailed review. I just started Stitch Fix this month. I don’t have much of a personal style yet so blogs like this help me to see what’s out there!
I love the Adele skinnies on you! I am so excited because I’m splurging on Stitch Fix again at the end of this month now that I’m almost back to my pre-baby weight. I have the Fix scheduled and hopefully by the time I get it I will be at my goal weight – it’s a good incentive!
The Crazy Together Blog instagram was a broken link for me…not sure if anyone has said that yet. Great entry about StitchFix though! I recently subscribed and have enjoyed my “lazy shopping!”
Hi Kim. I apologize if you already have a comment from me – I was writing one and then the website re-loaded so I am not sure if it posted.
I just tried StitchFiix for the first time and I thought it was great! I heard that it helps the StitchFix stylists if you pin pieces you love. So, while searching Pinterest for outfits, I came across your blog and Maria’s Crazy Together blog. You guys have great blogs! Thank you SO much for posting pictures of the items you get and providing such honest reviews of them! I also just opened your Facebook page, signed up for recipes, and I will definitely be trying some of the ones you posted – they look delicious! Just wanted to say “Thanks” and I look forward to hearing more about your StitchFix picks!
I agree about the dot top – those slits would drive me crazy! The pattern is super cute, though… Maybe I’ll ask my SF stylist if they have anything else with those dots!
I think I must be living in Mars. It’s the first time I’ve seen an online company who does that and I think it’s great! They did a nice job with your pair of pants! Got to check them out and try to join the giveaway too. 😀
WOW, I have been following your recipes for a while now and didn’t realize you did Stitch Fix reviews too! I’ve been getting SF off and on for the past 2 years now and recently started back up again. I’m excited to see you and I are the EXACT same size, 2P so you know my pain of finding SF pieces I don’t swim in. My last Fix was amazing – you can see my review here, to maybe help you get an idea of pieces you may like or want to request. Thanks so much for the information! https://strugglesofahealthyfoodie.wordpress.com/2017/02/07/stitch-fix-is-back-feb-2017/
My sister and cousin use Stitch Fix. I am going to try it once I lose weight. I don’t want to fall in love with an outfit just for it not to fit in a few weeks.
I have not tried Stitch Fix. I’m pretty picky and I pretty much wear the same thing all the time – plus super boring style wise! Hoodies are my friend. But you look great in the pants!
I always enjoy your Stitch Fix reviews – love the jeans you kept. I wouldn’t have been able to help myself either ; ). Your grandson (what!!!) is adorable!
Thank you for your honest review. I agree with the black blouse, it looks really pretty except for the side slit! The dress’ cut and print is nice too, but I just can’t get over that zipper showing at the back. Why did they have to make it that way? Anyway, I hope you get a better set of items next month.
Sorry that you didn’t enjoy most of your items this time around — but you generally seem to have good luck, so don’t be too upset! BTW, I can’t speak much to the fit, but I thought the pattern on that dress looked great on you! (And nice biceps, too!)
You got some great stuff! I can definitely see why you wouldn’t like the dress – it does have too much fabric. It is a cute pattern if it was toned down a little.
I actually like the floral pattern on the dress but the cut is not flattering at all. You can tell you put the work in on your biceps, they look great and are inspiring me to get to work before sleeveless time.
Look at that muscle! Impressive! I also love the colored pants. I’m a huge fan of colored pants and have now realized that I don’t have any in that shade of purple or blue.
I’ve always wanted to try Stitch Fix! The clothes are so cute!

I got those jeans in my first Stitch Fix box the other day. The fit is amazing!
Love your style! Those blue pants are so bold, gives me some inspiration to think out of the box this spring and summer!
Getting my first stitch fix this week,so excited!
I love those colored jeans
Overall, I thought it was a great fix. Mine have been terrific lately. Your blogger hints are helping.
I’m so glad you’re getting great fixes! I’m expecting one on Saturday and I’ve got my fingers crossed!
The Crazy Together Blog instagram was a broken link for me…not sure if anyone has said that yet. Great entry about StitchFix though! I recently subscribed and have enjoyed my “lazy shopping!”
I love the outfit with the blue pants and that black shirt with the slit up the side! Very pretty!
Thanks so much, Rebecca!
Thanks for sharing! You made some great choices!
I actually liked that dress on you! The pattern was busy but fun. I love to see what other people get in their boxes.
Thanks so much, Leslie! I love seeing other people’s fixes too! 🙂
I love the dress. Very lovely!
Thank you!

I have heard a lot about it. The shirts are so cute. Is it hard for them to fit?
Wow you got some awesome pieces in your box! I love that gray sweater/sweatshirt, so cozy! I’ve heard great things about Stitchfix!
Thank you for this detailed SF review. It really helps. I am trying Trunk Club for the first time and expect it to arrive this week.
I agree about the dot top – those slits would drive me crazy! The pattern is super cute, though… Maybe I’ll ask my SF stylist if they have anything else with those dots!
That outfit really suits you! Looking great 🙂
I have never tried Stitch Fix but those were some really great looks you posted.
I liked the floral dress.
Your outfits are so cute!! I love that dress!!
Thanks, Nikka! My stylist always does a great job!

Haha! Good luck with the giveaway!
I love Stitch Fix!

Thanks, Cara! Your Fix was awesome. Pinned a few of your pieces. Thanks so much for sharing!!
I loved that black top…until I saw the slits. So weird!
Exactly!
You’re right, that dress and pants looked too big and that top was cute, but what a strange slit. I always enjoy your reviews.
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
Love those pants. I may need to request some!
Yes, you should!
This is a great giveaway! The clothes are so cute!!
Thanks, Jessica and good luck!
How ironic that you wrote about Stitch Fix. I literally just found them on google a few days ago. So cool!
Cool! Hope you get a chance to give the service a try!
Thank you for sharing your fixes. I love to see what you get and how you style it!
Thanks so much! Good luck with the giveaway!
These are all great outfits, I am loving those bright pants! I like that they pick things for you, it saves me a ton of work!
Thanks, Emily! I’m a big fan of colored pants too and that color of blue was beautiful!
Those clothes look really good on you. I love the color of the jeans on you and the black shirt with the slit looks really good as well.
Thanks, David! I appreciate it!
I love the blue pants. The color is very pretty and goes good with the shirt.
I so agree… I wish they would have fit a little better.
My sister and cousin use Stitch Fix. I am going to try it once I lose weight. I don’t want to fall in love with an outfit just for it not to fit in a few weeks.
Great idea and the perfect motivation! Good luck!
I love stitch fix but I’m not working now so can’t justify buying more clothes I would love to win this!!!
I totally get that… good luck with the giveaway!
I would have loved that dress! I prefer longer lengths, but everyone is different!
Yes, it would be good for someone who wants something a little longer, but not too long.
I have not tried Stitch Fix. I’m pretty picky and I pretty much wear the same thing all the time – plus super boring style wise! Hoodies are my friend. But you look great in the pants!
Haha! Thanks, Teresa!
Entered! I’ve been on the fence about Stitch Fix for a while now. I would love to try it.
You should so give it a try! Good luck with the giveaway!
Thanks for sharing your pix and review. I do think the blue crops look good on you, though.
Thanks, Julie!!
I always enjoy your Stitch Fix reviews – love the jeans you kept. I wouldn’t have been able to help myself either ; ). Your grandson (what!!!) is adorable!
Thanks so much! 🙂
Thank you for your honest review. I agree with the black blouse, it looks really pretty except for the side slit! The dress’ cut and print is nice too, but I just can’t get over that zipper showing at the back. Why did they have to make it that way? Anyway, I hope you get a better set of items next month.
Yes, the zipper was pretty hideous! Ha!
I’m sorry you didn’t love your fix this month. I hope next month is better!
Me too! 🙂
Love the burgundy pants- i have some and love them!
They are pretty great! 🙂
That top with the slits is super cute, but I would get frustrated with the slits that high. I can see why you wound up not keeping it!
For sure!
Adorable grandson – of course you had to include that photo. What do you do for exercise to work on those biceps?
Thank you! Lots of lifting! 🙂
Sorry that you didn’t enjoy most of your items this time around — but you generally seem to have good luck, so don’t be too upset! BTW, I can’t speak much to the fit, but I thought the pattern on that dress looked great on you! (And nice biceps, too!)
Yes, I usually do have great luck. And I really do feel that my stylist did a good job sending things I might like. Thank you! 🙂
You got some great stuff! I can definitely see why you wouldn’t like the dress – it does have too much fabric. It is a cute pattern if it was toned down a little.
I so agree!
I love a lot of these items! I just have such a hard time with the way clothes fit me that I would be afraid to try it. But it’s such a fun idea!
Thank you! They typically do a surprisingly fabulous job in the way of fit. You should totally give it a try!
Been meaning to try this for awhile and spice up my wardrobe!
You so need to! It’s a lot of fun! Maybe you’ll win the giveaway! 🙂
I love that dress. That would be so pretty to wear here in Florida
Thank you! My kids said the same thing – that it would be perfect for our beach vacation.
Haven’t jumped on the stitch fit box yet. Love the floral dress your wearing. Slacks and tops are very pretty.
Thanks so much! You so should give it a try!
I love those burgundy jeans! That’s a popular color right now and they look great on!
Thanks so much, Andrea! Stitch Fix always does such a great job when it comes to the fit of jeans.
I keep hearing lots of great things about Stitch Fix. It looks like they sent you some really cute things!
It’s a really fun service! The excitement of receiving a surprise package never gets old!
I had a few bad experiences with Stitch Fix a few years ago. Recently I tries again and loved it! Entered 🙂
Awesome! Good luck!
I actually like the floral pattern on the dress but the cut is not flattering at all. You can tell you put the work in on your biceps, they look great and are inspiring me to get to work before sleeveless time.
Thanks so much! Yep, I’m trying to prepare for summer. It will be here before you know it!
Look at that muscle! Impressive! I also love the colored pants. I’m a huge fan of colored pants and have now realized that I don’t have any in that shade of purple or blue.
Haha! Thanks! I’m a huge fan of colored pants too – I always request them. 🙂
